Mission statement of the CGC
The Classical Guitar Centre (CGC) at the caseta de Serafí will be dedicated to the development and sustainability of the classical guitar, and in doing so will offer composers and arrangers the opportunity to collaborate with performers on new works featuring the classical guitar.
By providing the space - both physical and mental - and the infrastructure needed, composers and performers attending short-to-medium term Residency and Retreat programmes at the CGC will create, rehearse and record new works for the classical guitar.
The caseta (small traditional stone house) at the CGC will have a rehearsal space with beautiful natural acoustics, designed specifically to record classical guitar in various formations, and an adjoining small house with a kitchenette, bathroom and living facilities - allowing for a space to relax and mingle on-site.
The CGC will aim to provide anything needed by artists during their stay to facilitate their creative process.
